Laguna Phuket’s  organized a traditional Thai flea market once a month on the 1st day of each month, creating a fascinating experience for hotel guests and local residents alike.

Visitors can browse more than 200 stalls selling a variety of local arts and crafts, clothes, souvenirs, local foods and fruits, snacks and refreshments.

The atmosphere at the flea market was really nice, visitors enjoy view of lagoon and natural breeze from the sea.

Theme Park To Rise in Kamala

A 62 rai land plot in Kamala is set to be turned into a theme park by the owning company of Phuket FantaSea.

According to the Bangkok Post Safari World Plc. will commence construction of the development in the mid part of this year and expect to complete within eighteen months.

The cost of the themed tourism attraction is estimated at THB1.35 billon.  The northern part of Kamala is continuing to see market momentum, given the nearby Mont Azure mixed use project which is a consortium between Thai-based Narai Properties, and two significant overseas investors.

As for FantaSea’s expansion, this is squarely targeted at Phuket’s mass tourism market which is highly leveraged in the China geographic segment.

Currently there are two international standard theme park attractions in the planning phase in Kathu so expect Phuket to follow the current trend seen in Hua Hin and Pattaya towards large-scale tourism demand generators.

Twinpalms New Seafood Restaurant Opens Friday

Stylish Twinpalms will open their new Palm Seafood outlet to the public on Friday January 9th.

Located on the south end of Bangtao beach, the new restaurant will be open from 11:00 am to 11:00 pm daily.

Well known designer Martin Pallero who is the architect of Twinpalms led the concept and of course the imaginative work of Miguel Kirjon will be on display.

Best news is there is dedicated parking lot just across the street.

What more could you want from a live seafood restaurant, lounge and bar, than the Twinpalms touch?

Large Mixed-Use Airport Developing Rising

A large-scale mixed-use development named The Terminal is coming up near to Phuket International Airport.

Located at the T intersection in Nai Yang near the gateway airport, the 71 rai project has commenced construction.

Featuring a central lagoon, the phased development by Phuket Sirinath Property Company includes a community mall, condominium and hotel/serviced apartment.

Currently in it’s initial offering condominium units start at THB2 million for 33 square meters of space.

The North Phuket area is seeing a growing shift in real estate demand, which has been bolstered by Sansiri’s Baan Mai Khao and the expansion of nearby Yacht Haven including the addition of a series of new super yacht berths.

Another led indicator for the area is the redevelopment at Blue Canyon under its new controlling ownership group, which is in early planning stages.

Bangkok Airways Spurs Phuket Airlift

Thailand’s boutique airline Bangbangkok-airwayskok Airways has launched daily flights between the resort island Phuket and Chiang Mai.

At the same time the airline has added service from the popular Northern Thailand destination to Mandalay, Yangon and Udon Thani.

Triple bonus points are available for passengers flying the routes on the airline’s frequent flier program, along with an added baggage allowance.

A recent public listing of the airline came with muted interest from institutional investors despite steady financial performance.
